I hope your asking yourself what in the world is Regie talking about? If your doing that then my title achieved it’s goal! The question I am asking everyone is do you love yourself enough to invest in your health and well being so you can provide the things your family needs from you?
So often I see my clients, friends, family, and co-workers give and give of themselves until they have nothing left inside to invest in their own health and well being! To me that is the essence of counter production! We put everything we have into our lives around us but nothing in promoting a better sense of self, whether it be taking some time to meditate, work-out, pray, or simply reflect on our emotions and building connections in our minds.
As parents, spouses, employees, and business owners it’s our job and responsibility to be at our best at all times! We have to be cognitive of how we are treating ourselves so we can perform in every facet of our lives! How can we be great parents to our children if we’re tired, upset, stressed out, and fed up with our situation?…….WE CAN’T!
Essentially we are taking our families for granted and assuming that they only need us at 50%. Let me be honest and say that I never want my legacy to be remembered as the parent/husband/friend/sibling/son who sold himself short and gave the people he loved limited effort day in and day out! I know that it can feel like an uphill climb in many cases but the drive and desire it takes to consistently reach inside and pull maximum effort is there, I promise you! Have the faith and belief that if you look forward in life and work towards achieving your goals while growing intellectually and spiritually, you can do all the things you dream about!
Motivation and desire can be hard to come by on days when we feel defeated or discouraged. But by making a conscious effort to invest in ourselves by slowly improving your nutrition or spending that 30 minutes at they gym, we can begin to get good habits formed that build upon one another and develop a better you for your family! Being responsibly selfish means that your willing to put aside all the drama around you or the negative thinking that may define the people in your family to seek out that relationship that takes you to the next level. Sometimes we are forced to let friends and loved ones go because they simply are not on the same path. Be selfish enough to believe that your life is worth that sacrifice and by investing in YOU, your paying it forward to your children and your spouse!
More focus, less distraction, and an invigorated spirit will provide so much positive emotion in your family it could one day prove to be a real turning point for life altering changes! I believe that in life we have choices that determine the road we take as individuals but this in essence affects our loved ones around us. By ensuring that we are prepared, decisive, and mentally ready for those situations our families are in the good hands of leader’s who understand the importance of investing in themselves by being responsibly selfish!
