As the Lansing Everett high school grad (I have to mention something Lansing in every post) it’s an Examiner thing, I have got to stay diligent on the weekly updates from the world of “Boomers”, which by the way is going extremely well, thanks for asking :-).
The FTNS “conduit”, as I frequently mention live on the radio, brings us cool stuff, awesome guests and a ton of new information. I certainly hope you find it interesting, here we go this week in review.
Monday brought in my pal Dave Lorenz from “Travel Michigan”, ( have I said how much I appreciate Dave’s time?), we talked about another outrageously cool topic, “SCUBA”. Apparently unbeknown to the host, (me), the Great Lakes boast some outstanding scuba diving and according to Dave real scuba people (I believe they are referred to as “divers”), really flock to our waters.
Did you know there are thousands sunken of shipwrecked ships in the Great Lakes, news to me, but yessir and scuba people (divers) really like this kind of stuff.
I would too, if I had ever done this, and if you really want more solid info on the topic and locations they are all documented on the “Travel Michigan” website.
Another thing is there is a 450 square mile sanctuary just for you scuba people (divers) to have a blast. Located in Lake Huron off of Alpena, this is a must do for anyone interested in shipwrecks and diving. In addition to this we discussed the tamer sport of snorkeling, (more my cup of coffee frankly), where outfitters will hook you up with the training, the boats, the gear and the spot for having that cross generational fun we like to call family fun and outdoor fitness.
And if you are just into land stuff, or in addition to all of this wet stuff, check out the Whitefish Point and Museum, personally I think all of these different things to do in Michigan are outstanding, what a variety and cost effective too.
Also I had the pleasure of talking to Michelle Batterman, “Raw Fitness Goddess”, say that fast three times, seriously though. Michelle has more acronyms attached to her name than a neurosurgeon, ND_CMT_RMT_CNS-CPT-CFLT-LC and working on a Shamanic healer certification (Doctor in training), dang!
Michelle is going to be a new regular contributor to the show and share all kinds of good info, help us understand why we need to eat more raw food, (and I wholly endorse that talk, you go girl), in addition to work out strategy and staying healthy, stay tuned and I will be positing up her next appearance and topic, can’t wait.

On Wednesday we had a double dip of the Johnson family. First up my buddy and leader of the pack Chris Johnson, founder of “On Target Living” made his monthly visit and as always CJ was great. We chatted up his worldly travels, Ohio, Miami, and on to Guadalajara, Mexico, (when I grow up I want to be just like Chris!), and then we talked a little bit about building your steps, (yes everyone, the small steps are the only way to change), and we focused more on the topic of healthy fats. There is so much to talk in regard to this topic I am cutting it short and just saying buy CJ’s book on nutrition, suffice to say you need healthy fats and your body will love them, enough said.
The next Johnson family member was Matt, CJ’s sonand director of On Targets business development. I wanted input from Matt on being a college athlete, sharing information with us and on the topic of getting your kids or grand-kids that elusive college scholarship and his opinion on this. Matt was and is a great golfer and played at Grand Valley State University, so he knows the in and outs of the whole process. I really like this topic and plan on expanding and talking about this more in the future, stay tuned for that next chapter next month.
And I would be remiss in not mentioning R squared’s input on Wednesday’s show. We tested the co-host Skype connection and it worked great and he brought his input into the conversation with Chris and Matt, really good stuff.
Remember what I close every show with everyone-
“Love your life, because before you can share love with others you must love yourself!”
Yep I made that one up!
Hang in there much more new stuff coming, thanks for your time.
