Here we go, update time, got to stay diligent about writing and keeping the information pipeline full, and we got plenty to talk about so let’s get “rockin”!
My pal David Lorenz was his normal leadoff the week with a bang self. That’s why you have lead-off hitters, get the game started right, right?
Traverse City, if you have not been there you are missing the cherry of Michigan, (that’s sort of a Michigan inside joke for those of you who don’t know the “cherry” reference), Traverse City has the Cherry festival annually.
In addition David wanted to talk about hiking and the multi-generational fitness activity. I officially have stolen the term “multi-generational” from David, he gave me permission. Love the reference, that doing fun activities with the whole family, hiking at it’s best can happen in many areas of Michigan. For example-
1. Sleeping Bear dunes– Been here and definitely will be back, can you say “Bad Ass” and not be offensive, I hope so cause I just did. Catch my drift!
2. PJ Hoffmaster State Park– Been here and again yes I agree, well worth the BA adjective
Russ “Papa” Van Zandt made his be-monthly visit, and yes he crushed it. His segment helping lead people down the entrepreneurial path via the internet is not only informative, (Yes I continue to learn from the Papa), but his strategy to step us through this process is solid.
His “Boomer Financial Fitness” tag, I love it, however it is not just for boomers, it is great info for everyone.
Can you say a show that flew by, kind of the flow for “Boomers Rock”, great guests, great info, time flies by.
I was not going to mention listening to “Panic at the Disco” before my show, (you know my ritual of getting crazy before I light the fuse), I mean Shawn thinks I am edgy (music wise) and then I throw out this or “Lady Gaga” and the rocker image goes right out the window.
Hey workout, eat right, host a national radio show (soon, you read it here first), being 52 going on 19 is just a mindset baby, and hang with me and lets all get there together!
Can you say digress, just like talking, my mind works at 150 mph everyday, is there any other way!
Jolene Roberts, my pal from Canada, and the newest qualifier for the Body Building/Fitness/Modeling/bunch of hotties, yes I said hotties, came into the house and shared her passion and hopefully you had a chance to hear her, if not not to worry, she will be making her regular contributions.
Yep, having pro coaches (they are coming on soon), makes a diff when you prep for a huge show like the Toronto show, it’s a bitch, (so sorry, but I can’t think of a better adjective), cause the diet and workout routine will crush a normal human.
Great job Jo!
Next my workout buddy, and radio mentor David D made a stop in. When D loses his radio shtick, (he has been doing sports talk for 15 years), he is one of the most introspective and cool cats around. We talked about getting into the ‘zone’, ‘motivation’, and ‘relationship’s’ with your trainer. It really is about finding that groove.
Hey for me it’s all about motivation, you want somebody to write up a program, not this cat (me), David is proof, we just kill it, all on the fly and he adds as much as I do, great stuff baby.
David shared the story of Shay Raymont his friend for 17 years and his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Talk about a battler, don’t give me this I can’t do it stuff, this guys story brought a tear to my eye!
And as a closer we wrapped the week with Jenn Dubey, (Trainer Jenn), I think I will just refer to Jenn as future fricking rock star, she was unreal, how much time do I have, OK I am at 700 words, DANG IT!
Oh and congrats to Jenn and her new husband Chad, awesome guys, happiness to you both!
OK let’s do bullets cause she was so awesome, info so good I could write the whole blog about her interview,
Here you go-
- SMART-Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time
- “You’ll never get where you want to go if you don’t change what you’ve always done”
- Goals-Measurable and Attainable
- Compelling Why
- Internal and External motivators
- Challenge yourself
- and finally the airplane analogy-something about finding your destination, autopilot, I don’t know it was great and I ran out of room on my notes, can you say rocked, Jenn carried the whole show, monologue and all.
There was more, but blogs should be 4-500 words, and my show blogs are running like 800-1000, can you say great guests, this stuff is so much fun I can’t wait till tomorrow and doing another week.
You can always find my daily affirmations either via text, to my closest of friends or go to Face Book- Thomas F Matt, everyday like 4:00 am and then bust it out.
Thanks for listening and reading, and keep listening to Lady Gaga, HA!
Love yourself, because before you can love others you MUST love yourself first!
