If I were to tell you that there was a magic formula in health and fitness would you believe me? How much would you pay for that formula to help turn your life around? Would you ask if there were any added ingredients like hard work or sweat equity? These are all burning questions that need answers when inquiring about what spells success and results when it comes to reaching our health and fitness goals.
Too often I run into people at the gym or friends that have health and fitness goals that talk the talk but simply can’t walk the walk. It is commonplace for us as human beings to think that if you just show up at the gym for a couple days you get results. Unfortunately, health and fitness is just not achieved through OSMOSIS! There has to be some sweat equity involved to facilitate results and develop changes that become habits over time.
When beginning a fitness program and incorporating healthy food into our lives we start out so motivated only to see our motivation decline and quickly fall back into the old habits which got us into our unhealthy predicament in the first place. We talk about losing weight but then turn around and have a Snicker’s bar from the vending machine every day. We want to eat healthier but the Cherry Coke in the pop cooler is just too tantalizing to dismiss. The person that is stopping you from achieving your health and fitness goals is YOU!
Past mistakes and failed exercise programs can haunt us as we make the commitment to begin again. Please don’t let these mistakes limit your progress this time. Our past failures at the gym or in the kitchen have nothing to do with your success today. The body turns over 4 trillion cells each day and is the most powerful organism in the world when it comes to healing the damage we’ve sustained throughout our lives. If you fall off, get back on. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is truly living.
Unfortunately, being in the health and fitness industry I’ve witnessed too many people believing that they can see results by doing the same thing they’ve always done before. Do you keep moving in circles and are never successful? Are you on the borderline of success but just can’t reach over the threshold to see a few results? Does your fitness success or lack thereof resemble the trend of success in other parts of your life?
It’s my goal to help each and every one of you learn the magic formula and come to grips that it’s the only way to be successful at becoming healthy internally and externally while developing a wellness lifestyle.
