Thanks for coming back and tuning in to the conclusion of this two part series. You may be wondering why I just wouldn’t reveal the formula in the first part and why I made you wait? Well, I believe that true change and growth is brought about by resistance, and I believe that leaving you guessing will help you become emotionally connected to the change agent I’m going to provide.
We must all become emotionally invested to see lifestyle changes that become habits. One of my mentors, Chris Johnson, from On Target Living believes that everyone must find their “Why” before lasting changes can occur. The point CJ is making is that we must find that emotional commitment that not only motivates us but continues to push and challenge our mind and body when the other stresses in life get in the way. In other words how can we do what we have never done before without changing anything? That’s where the emotional connection comes in to force us to make uncomfortable changes that fuel the desire to keep pushing when that comfort level is telling us to give up.
Okay, let’s start to break down the magic formula and find out how our change is going to occur.
First we must, and I mean MUST, decide to live in a 24-hour commitment cycle. What I mean by that is focusing on being your best TODAY, that’s it, it’s very simple. Focus on being the best you can be for the 24 hours you are living in and nothing more. I don’t want you to worry about the challenges that lie ahead two weeks from now as those will only sidetrack you from the 24 hours you are living in today. At night you will take mental notes of where you may have failed for future learning and reference and flush the toilet on all the other diversions that you dealt with today. When you wake up, re-commit to being the best you can be again for 24 hours.
This may sounds amazingly simple and almost trivial but I dare you to try it for a week. Obviously we all are not perfect so some days are better than others but the magical part is that no one 24-hour period is like the one before it or the one that comes after. It’s fluid and constantly changing so our growth daily continues to build and makes us stronger when we need to face our new challenges tomorrow.
The second portion is a creed and guideline that I look at every day and have leaned on when times got tough and challenges seemed too tough to surmount. Your magic formula promise to yourself is to be repeated daily when you want to cheat or fall of the wagon. It reads: “Avoid all garbage and unnecessary supplements and rely on your training and nutrition for success. There is no powder, pill, potion, cream, or gadget that will turn me into a specimen. It takes sacrifice, commitment, and hard work.” Write the creed down on a note card like me and carry it around for motivation and reference when your willpower is challenged by life’s stresses.
And finally the magic formula in its entirety. Please use caution when applying this formula to your life as lame excuses and cop-outs are simply obliterated by the individual applying my formula to their life. Pass this formula on to anyone you believe may be ready for the transformation it can provide, but understand once you begin to apply it to your life success will begin to examine where you may be slacking or resting on your laurels in other aspects of who you are.
The Magic Success Formula:
Burning Desire+Your Unique Talents+Your Goals+Limitless Hard Work = SUCCESS
Are you ready to apply this to your life? How much are you willing to sacrifice to see changes? Is your belief system already telling you that this won’t be able to translate success for you? Take the step, I promise the road will be challenging, difficult, uncomfortable, lengthy, but yet oh so rewarding at the end!
Until next time, here’s to a fitter tomorrow.——>R’s
