Writing my blog gives me the opportunity to fulfill my intrinsic desire to give back and teach, hopefully, really I have been blessed to actually be alive, that is where the thought for today’s blog came from, my moment of truth.
I have discussed the illness I endured and recovered from in previous blogs, and do not want to bore you with the details, suffice to say I am a lucky guy, and with the moment of truth comes the epiphany to understand and that is my point today.
I was determined to learn more about physical conditioning, training, weight loss, nutrition and was advised by some very smart people in the fitness industry to pursue the NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) personal training certification, another goal. Achieving and pursuing knowledge is really the only way to understand and cut through all of the bullcrap that is out there, so I did. And let me tell you it was tough. However, anything that is solid is going to be tough, and I did not want some cheesy certificate to hang on my wall and walk around and tell people I was a personal trainer, hardly. I wanted the knowledge, so I wanted the best, and NASM is the best, so feel confident when I talk about working out, training, anatomy and physiology as it pertains to personal coaching I did my training and set that goal.
I really want to use this as the segue into your goals and aspirations to lose that weight, get in shape and survive that illness, make your body strong to deal with societies stresses. It is tough, let’s do it together, take my experience and use it as motivation.
I encourage you to do this, get a workout partner, or watch or exercise demos, contact us for advice, just get moving, set your goal, and ATTACK.
Let’s not take the easy way out, there is no easy way, however there is the right way and it can be enjoyable, and I want you to face the hard truth, it will take some time, there is no magic pill. I am a walking example of the rollercoaster of life and its stresses, its temptations, and weakness.
You can lose the weight, I promise, just stick to it, slow steps, and understand the challenge, you will prevail!
